Types of Problems That May Arise from Drug Abuse

Drug abuse is a process which involves uncontrolled desire and use of drugs. Drug abuse shows many negative effects on the health of an individual, weight changes or unusual eating patterns, change in normal sleep patterns, frequent infections or infections which don't heal, memory lapses, frequent minor illnesses like headaches, nausea etc. are the physical signs and symptoms of a person who is abusing drugs.

Family Problems:
Drug abuse creates many problems in the family and it shows great effect on the family relations. Substance abusers may lead to divorce and has a higher incidence of domestic violence in their households. The children of substance abusers are more likely to develop emotional issues which induces substance abuse in the children.

Financial Problems:
Substance not only financially effects the person abusing the drugs but it also effects the society. Addicts have to spend lot of money in purchasing these drugs. Drug addiction also shows effects at the work place which causes low productivity which in turn effects economic system. Financial stability of the families of substance abusers is lost because of which substance abusers may lose their employment due to drug or alcohol abuse.

Developmental Problems:
Drug addiction in the early stages of life may cause some developmental problems, and according to NIDA the earlier a person begins drug use, the more likely he or she is to become an addict.

Health Problems:
Drug addiction shows many negathttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifive effects on the health, it also causes damage to the vital body organs like heart, brain, kidney, etc. Drug addiction may also cause inadequate housing and poor nutrition. Sharing of the needles while injecting the drugs in to the body may also spread diseases like HIV.
