Know About the Various Causes of Gingivitis?

Gingivitis is a gum disease or periodontal disease that is treated by a dentist called periodontist. Gingivitis develops because of the bacterial growth on the remained food substances sticking called plaque. It is a very common disease which occurs in the people whose oral-health is very bad. It can be prevented by keeping good oral hygiene. We can say that we have a gingivitis disease if there is a swelling or inflammation, redness and irritation persists to gums. If it is not treated properly it may lead to tooth loss or dental related problems because the gums become too weak that it destroys the tissues that support the teeth.

Gingivitis varies among individuals. It can cause damage in other areas of the body if allowed to remain untreated. The bacteria remaining in the mouth can enter blood stream or digestive system that can cause many infections.

Heart diseases, diabetes, blood pressures etc. are the diseases that can occur due to the gingivitis. Gingivitis may be prevented or cured by adhering to some simple preventative measures:

plaque, hormonal changes, illness, taking medications, bad habits etc, can also cause gingivitis.

Mostly it can be prevented by keeping and maintaining good oral hygiene.
